Using Ebrary E-Books on an IPad
A checklist of what you will need to get started:
  • Free Ebrary Account
  • Free Bluefire Reader App

Start by conducting a keyword search in the Library’s catalog. You will receive a list of results. (Pictured below)

The first result listed is an e-book. You can tell it is an e-book when it has the GO button with an arrow beside it and it doesn’t have a location, call number, or status. To go directly into the e-book click on the GO button. To access more detailed information click on the title. Once you are in the record you can access the book by clicking on the link “Connect to title online (UA network users only)”. If you are working off campus you will need to log in with your UAnet and password. (The record is pictured below)

If you would like to search the entire book for a specific topic, person, or keyword you can search using the Search Document box. This will retrieve all the locations that word appears in the e-book and also highlights it. An example would be if you wanted to search this e-book for herbs you would type it in the search bar and click on Search Document. (the results are pictured below)

The number of pages available to download will vary depending on the length of the book, this will be specified when you go to check the book out. You can check out the entire book for a specified amount of time.
